Disaster Response Support for Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki

Project Description

This project represents the PAPHA Indonesia Foundation’s humanitarian response to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki, which has affected communities in Sikka and East Flores Regencies. With support from The Samdhana Institute and Save the Children (via CIS Timor), humanitarian aid is being distributed to meet the basic needs of affected communities and displaced persons.

The program’s primary focus is ensuring that survivors have access to clean water, food, and healthcare services during the emergency response phase, thereby ensuring their basic needs are met.

Activities Carried Out

• Distribution of clean water aid to affected communities in Kringa and Hikong Villages, Talibura District, Sikka Regency.
• Distribution of food aid to displaced persons at the Konga Field Post, Wulanggitang District, East Flores Regency.
• Distribution of health-related support to disaster survivors in evacuation centers.
• Coordination with funding partners and stakeholders regarding the distribution of humanitarian aid.

Project Achievements

• Affected communities in Kringa and Hikong villages gained access to clean water supplies during the emergency response period.
• Displaced persons at the Konga field post are receiving food aid to meet their daily basic needs.
• The delivery of health-related support to disaster survivors in evacuation sites.
• The effective, targeted delivery of humanitarian aid was achieved through collaboration among Yayasan PAPHA Indonesia, The Samdhana Institute, Save the Children (via CIS Timor), and stakeholders in the affected areas.
• Reduction of the burden on disaster-affected communities through the provision of basic needs during the emergency response period.
